- Language Arts
- English 8: Students read a wide array of literature that exposes them to various places, times, cultures, and characters across different genres. Students recognize common elements and themes that weave through these works, while using their abilities to synthesize, analyze, and make connections through class discussions, oral presentations, projects, and written assignments. The study of vocabulary incorporates words in context in literature and developmental workbooks. All modes of writing are enriched to build upon and expand the structures presented in sixth and seventh grade.
- English 8 Honors: This course requires sophisticated critical thinking, discourse analysis, synthesis, and evaluation skills in preparation for honors and advanced placement courses in high school. Moving at an accelerated pace, students read literature representative of a wide array of cultures and genres. Reading critically, students explore selections from the text that are supplemented with works relevant to the focus for each quarter, and demonstrate literary analysis through class discussions, oral presentations, projects, and written assignments. Students recognize themes, vocabulary differences and commonalities, and rhetorical devices and patterns among works of literature. The study of vocabulary incorporates words in the context of literature and developmental workbooks. All modes of writing expand the structures presented in sixth and seventh grade.
- Math
- Pre-Algebra: Pre-Algebra is a foundational mathematics course designed to prepare students for Algebra I. The course strengthens students’ understanding of arithmetic and introduces basic algebraic concepts. Key topics include integers, fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percentages, expressions, equations, inequalities, and basic geometry. Emphasis is placed on problem-solving, critical thinking, and applying mathematical reasoning to real-world situations.
- Algebra (8th Grade Honors): Algebra is a core mathematics course that builds on pre-algebra skills and introduces students to the language of algebraic expressions, equations, and functions. Students learn to simplify expressions, solve linear equations and inequalities, graph on the coordinate plane, and analyze relationships between variables. The course also includes systems of equations, exponents, polynomials, factoring, and quadratic functions. Emphasis is placed on logical reasoning, mathematical modeling, and applying algebra to solve real-world problems.
- Science
- Physical Science: This research-based science course introduces students to key concepts in chemistry and physics, preparing them to think and act like scientists. Moving beyond memorizing facts, students will develop critical thinking skills to explore and solve real-world science problems. Through engaging case studies, interactive activities, and hands-on mini-labs, students will investigate the properties of matter, its changes and motion, as well as waves and energy. The course also emphasizes ethical decision-making through the lens of a biblical worldview.
- Social Studies
- American History: Building on the knowledge gained from World History and Civics, this course guides students through the history of the United States, focusing on God’s providence and power. Students are taught to interpret historical events through a biblical worldview, drawing lessons from the past to influence the present and future as thoughtful, engaged Christian citizens. In addition to studying key events and figures in American history, students develop social studies literacy skills and analytical thinking through the use of both primary and secondary sources.
- Bible
- Christianity in Action: Christianity in Action equips students to actively live out their Christian faith in a post-Christian society. Through engaging critical-thinking exercises and real-world applications, this course prepares students to defend their beliefs and engage thoughtfully with competing worldviews. Students will explore the Christian perspective across various disciplines, including theology, philosophy, ethics, and sociology. The Bible survey component focuses on the remaining New Testament books, from Galatians to Revelation, providing a comprehensive understanding of the early Christian church and its teachings.
- Physical Education
- The Physical Education program at Christ Fellowship Academy encompasses a variety of team sports, recreational activities, and physical fitness exercises. The course is designed to foster an appreciation for and commitment to lifelong physical fitness. The curriculum includes instruction on rules, etiquette, sportsmanship, safety, strategy, offensive and defensive techniques, conditioning activities, and physical assessments related to various sports.

- Health & Fitness at Christ Fellowship Academy empowers students to honor God by stewarding their bodies, minds, and spirits through a biblically grounded approach to health. Utilizing the BJU Press Health curriculum, the course provides students with an accurate knowledge of human anatomy, personal safety, and disease prevention. It encourages ethical decision-making and promotes physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Aligned with state standards, this course addresses critical health topics from a Christian worldview, equipping students to make informed choices that reflect biblical values.
- Foreign Language
- Spanish II: Spanish II is an intermediate language course where students develop, maintain, and enhance proficiency in the Spanish language. The course focuses on advancing skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Spanish grammar is reviewed and reinforced in context, with instruction tailored to meet students’ individual needs. Cultural topics are integrated throughout classroom activities and instruction. The course emphasizes more complex aspects of Spanish grammar and introduces literary works by Spanish and Latin American authors, as well as the history, geography, and cultures of Spanish-speaking societies.
